Chicago, Ill.
(August, 2008) – For the second year, Radius participated in the LaGrange Area
Department of Special Education (LADSE) Career Academy
vocational program. The program provides
students an understanding of and preparation for the world of work and career
planning through a combination of classroom, individual learning and field
observation.
Radius hosted 16 students at its Chicago
office in mid-July to provide them with an introduction and education on the
product design and development process. The visit included a tour of the
studio, presentation from various disciplines and an interactive Q & A
session.
“It was incredibly exciting to introduce these students to the multifaceted career options that lie in design,” said Dan Perez, Director of Design for Radius Chicago. “To see their eyes light up and react to the work we do was also a reminder to us that what we do is pretty unique. We had a lot of fun with the kids and it was truly a fulfilling experience for all involved.”
“The team at Radius did an excellent job of engaging and educating the students, who overwhelming agreed that Radius was the most rewarding experience out of the 15 different companies we visited during the program,” said Alex Budziszewski, Program Coordinator for LADSE Career Academy.
