Lakewood Fan Line

Lakewood has been a leader in the fans & air circulator market since the 1950’s. Lakewood asked Radius to collaborate on an aggressive product development program to refresh their market offering. We explored designs to determine features and design language for a complete the line extension re-establishing Lakewood at the forefront in the category.

Because of an aggressive timing requirement, key product sizes within each line where selected. Renderings and appearance models were used to gather key input from buyers and industry professional’s preferences to evolve and rationalize the new design direction. The design refinement process allowed the design intent of the selected paths to be further developed in line with market, line offering, execution and commercialization constraints. Allowing us to effectively capture the essence of a brand’s ‘DNA’ while exploring Color, Material and Finish (CMF) product solutions which provide the subtleties of trend and material applications to optimize the product for aesthetics, usability, ergonomics, and manufacturability.
