WaterPik®, a leader in personal healthcare products, wanted to create a new line of innovative shower heads designed and engineered to combine performance, design and style while supporting Eco/Sustainability. They challenged Radius to complement Waterpik’s EcoFlow® upscale showerheads with two products that offer both faucet-mounted and handheld options and are designed to fit a moderate budget.

Radius explored options that not only offered multiple spray pattern configurations but maintained Spray force and Spray coverage requirements with low-flow faucet technology that does not sacrifice a great shower experience. Those configurations balanced the need of improved function, fresh design language and a fresh décor aesthetic that connects to the needs of the home owner. The initial strategic work for WaterPik started with visually mapping and analyzing the current market ecosystem, identifying opportunities to provide meaningful consumer value. Radius started with the on-shelf opportunities, understanding the value points of the purchase experience. Identifying gaps in current market offerings and where the innovation opportunities are, we developed key attributes into the storyline, creating the consumer’s journey through the purchase process. We focused on the spray head design, finish and pattern sophistication to drive the perception of market leading quality and reliability. Breaking that process into key moments, we were able to visualize opportunities with competitive offerings to rationalize meaningful differentiation. These opportunities were collaboratively reviewed and refined.

 As a result, product placement and market share grew exponentially. At this time, sales are in excess of projected targets.
